The Challenges
This bathroom renovation job quickly presented many challenges and the team knew it would require careful attention.
- All original 1920s plumbing and other construction materials
- One angle to work due to the downstairs occupant
- Updating the space to today’s safety code requirements
The plumbing in the home was the original 1920s steel pipes throughout the bathroom. Removing the 100-year-old steel pipe was no easy feat, as it also had to be cleared of sludge and debris that had accumulated over the years. While removing the steel pipes, the team also had to work around and carefully handle the other construction materials from the same era.
